Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and bipo. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to what is written here. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What bipo is

bipo is an iPhone and iPad app for talking by voice with a small group of people, without ceremony. Tap a friend's card, speak and your voice arrives. If they have the app open, the conversation happens live in both directions. If they are away, your voice arrives as a notification that they can hear with one tap.

It is an independent project run by one person, with no company behind it. You talk directly to the person building the app, who is also the person replying when something goes wrong.

Principles

• A small group on purpose

  bipo is not a social network. It is for close friends in groups of up to 8 people. There is no feed, follower count or score to grow.

• Your voice passes and leaves

  Live conversations are not recorded. Voice messages exist only until delivery or deletion, and what you say does not become an archive.

• You choose who gets in

  Nobody can speak to you until both of you accept the friendship. You can undo that at any time, with immediate effect.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old. If you are between 13 and 17, you need approval from a parent or guardian.
• Your account is personal and cannot be transferred. You are responsible for what happens in it, including access to the email or Apple account used to sign in.
• Your display name and photo may not impersonate someone else.
• Each account has a six digit PIN that friends use to find you.
• You can delete your account at any time in Settings without asking anyone.

Technical requirements

bipo requires an iPhone or iPad with a recent system version, an internet connection and microphone permission. Without notification permission, messages will not play on your phone, and the app will tell you when this happens. Mobile data, roaming and battery use are your responsibility.

What is not allowed

When using bipo, you agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, intimidate or stalk anyone.
• Send sexual content involving minors in any form. This is a crime and results in immediate blocking and a report to the authorities.
• Use hate speech against people or groups based on race, color, ethnicity, religion, origin, disability, age, gender or sexual orientation.
• Share another person's personal data without permission.
• Impersonate another person or organization.
• Send advertising, chain messages, scams or anything in bulk.
• Record or share someone's voice outside bipo without that person's consent.
• Attempt to bypass, overload, reverse engineer or automate access to the service.
• Use bipo for anything prohibited by Brazilian law.

Safety of children and teenagers

We have zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation and abuse. Any such content results in immediate account termination and a report to the competent authorities, including prosecutors and international reporting centers when applicable. If you find anything like this on bipo, write immediately to support@bipo.chat.

What we may do

When someone breaks these rules, our response is proportional to what happened, the account history and the risk to others. It may include a warning, content removal, a feature suspension, a temporary suspension or permanent account termination. In serious cases, we terminate the account immediately without prior notice.

If you believe the decision was wrong, write to support@bipo.chat and we will review it.

Reports and blocking

You can remove a friendship at any time, with immediate effect on both sides. The person disappears from your app, and you disappear from theirs. To report abuse, write to support@bipo.chat and tell us what happened and when. We review every report.

Content and ownership

What you say remains yours. You grant us only the limited and temporary license needed to transmit and store your voice for the strictly necessary delivery period. The license ends when the content is delivered or deleted. If you enable Bipo Translate, training samples and the voice clone follow the specific consent and retention terms in the Privacy Policy.

The app, the bipo name, the brand, interface design and code belong to us. You receive a personal, revocable and nonexclusive license to use the app under these terms, and nothing more.

Availability

We do our best to keep bipo available, but we do not promise uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, provider failures, network problems or carrier problems may interrupt the service. Features may change or be removed. When a change is significant, we will give reasonable advance notice.

Limits of liability

bipo is provided as it is. We are not responsible for what people say to each other, indirect damage, lost profit or lost opportunity arising from use or unavailability. Nothing here removes rights granted to you by Brazil's Consumer Protection Code.

Termination

You may stop using bipo and delete your account whenever you want. We may terminate or suspend your account for violating these terms, creating risk for others or complying with a legal requirement. After termination, your data is deleted according to the periods in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update this text. If a change is significant, we will notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use bipo afterward means you accept the new version.

Law and jurisdiction

These terms follow Brazilian law. The courts of the consumer's place of residence have jurisdiction over any issue that cannot be resolved through conversation. We always prefer to talk first at support@bipo.chat.
